The aim of the VET Excellence Awards is to highlight best practice and recognise excellence in Vocational Education and Training all over Europe. By showcasing the best examples of VET, the European Commission will provide visibility and recognition for good work – and motivate individuals and organisations that work with VET.

This year the ‘Awards for VET Excellence’ will take place during the Closing Event on 9 November 2018. Marianne Thyssen, European Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs, Skills and Labour Mobility, will announce the winners.

The Awards are organised in 2 steps: the jury identified the 2 nominees for each category and then the online vote will decide on the winner of the year. The categories of vote include excellence among Apprentices, large companies, SMEs, training at work, innovative VET providers, teacher and trainer, VET research and European funding for excellence.
